Enabling children to flourish and succeed

Year 6

Welcome to the Year 6 class page.

Year 6 is a very important year at every primary school and, at St Mary's, our Year 6 children use all the skills and knowledge they have learned throughout their time here to help them prepare for life at secondary school.

Every day is very busy and our curriculum is wide and varied. We study Maths, English and Reading every day and have lessons in Music, PE, Computing, French, RE and PSHE every week. We study Art, DT, Science, History and Geography in unit blocks. You can see the topics we are studying on the curriculum map.

Our PE days are Wednesdays and Fridays.

We have homework every week, comprising of spellings, a Maths or English Writing activity and reading part of our class book. This is all based on our learning in class each week. Homework is set on a Friday and due in the following Wednesday.
