Enabling children to flourish and succeed

E-Safety

At St Mary's C of E Primary School, we prioritise the safety and well-being of our pupils in all aspects of their education, including their online activities. E-safety is an integral part of our safeguarding strategy, and we are committed to ensuring that our pupils are protected from potential online risks.

We understand that the digital world offers immense educational opportunities, but it also presents challenges and dangers. Therefore, we have implemented comprehensive E-safety policies and procedures to create a safe online environment for our pupils. These policies are designed to balance the educational potential of new technologies with the need to safeguard our pupils

Our approach to E-safety includes:

  • Educating pupils about the responsible use of the internet, mobile devices, and digital technologies.
  • Providing training for staff to ensure they are equipped to teach and support E-safety.
  • Implementing robust filtering and monitoring systems to prevent access to inappropriate content.
  • Encouraging open communication between pupils, parents, and staff about online safety concerns.

We expect all members of our school community, including staff, pupils, and any external organisations using our ICT facilities, to adhere to our E-safety policies. By working together, we can ensure that our pupils navigate the digital world safely and responsibly

Always be careful when you are using the internet. It can help you to keep in touch with your friends and help your education – but it can also cause harm – to you and to others.

Remember help is always available at school if you are having any problems online.

Don’t be afraid to talk to your teacher or another adult at school.
