Leave of Absence

Under changes to the Education Regulations, parents are not allowed to take pupils away on holiday during term time.  Headteachers may not grant leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances.  If leave of absence is not granted and parents decide to go ahead with the absence, then this will be recorded as unauthorised.

Unauthorised absences are reported to the Educational Welfare Officer / Local Authority and parents may receive a fine as a result.
